Spring Community Project – Orange City

SPRING COMMUNITY PROJECT APRIL 8 |  9-12 PM

Our Spring Community Project offers an opportunity to serve together and connect with those who live in our community. We partner with the City of Orange City to help neighbors satisfy Code violations and in return the City alleviates their fines. We also use this time to provide general lawn care and help with small repair projects. Service areas include yard crew, special projects, conversation crew and kitchen team. Lunch will be provided for everyone serving and for neighbors who were served.

We will host our spring project on Saturday, April 8, from 9am-Noon. We will meet at the Orange City Campus – West Entrance at 9 am, to break into groups and pray. From there, we will go serve our neighbors at our adopted parks. We are offering 6 areas in which to serve.

  • Area 1 is Edwards and Clements
  • Area 2 is S Ada, Cherokee and E Rose
  • Area 3 is S Leavitt and Lakeview Dr
  • Area 4 is S Orange
  • Area 5 is Clark St and Thorpe
  • Area 6 is University

Giving Joy

WHAT IS GIVING JOY?

Giving Joy is a part of the Journey’s 2C Ministries to extend Compassion & Care to parents who otherwise might not be able to provide Christmas gifts for their children by hosting a free "shopping" experience and free gift wrapping. This provides parents with the gift of dignity to present the Christmas gifts they selected and wrapped for their children, from themselves, as the parent on Christmas morning. We also provide prayer for the parents and offer them the opportunity to receive the greatest gift of all, SALVATION, after their shopping experience to find ultimate joy.

ACCEPTABLE DONATIONS (include but are not limited to)

Toys are needed for birth to teen aged children.

New age appropriate toys // bikes // new video, playing card and board games // books, Bibles, and devotions // teen gifts cologne, costume jewelry etc. // sports equipment // Electronics MP3 or prepaid phones for teens.

Donations of wrapping paper are also needed to keep the surprise until Christmas!

All donations can be brought to the 2C HUB in the Sending Zone the entire month of November and the first week of December. Please note that clothing will not be accepted for Giving Joy unless new with tags!

Fall Community Project – Orange City Campus

  • Orange City Campus

OCT 8 |  9-12 pm

As the body of Christ, we strive to extend a helping hand. We have found that Community Projects benefit the entire community. Through various community projects, we help improve environments within Volusia County for all who live and visit, while expressing God's compassion and care for all the people through our service to them.

We will host our fall project on Saturday, October 8, from 9am-Noon. We will meet on our OC Campus at 9 am, to break into groups and pray. From there, we will go serve our neighbors at our adopted parks. We are offering 4 areas in which to serve.

Area 1 – Planting the Community Garden and cleaning up at all of our Adopted Parks.
Area 2 – Refreshing the original Mill Lake Park.
Area 3 – Helping a few neighbors with yard work. TBD
Area 4 – Community Awareness! We walk the neighborhood to let neighbors know about the garden and to join us for lunch back at the Journey -- and of course invite them to the Journey this weekend!
